To build lime plants in Africa, the first step is to complete soil and industrial demand research in advance. More than 30% of arable land in Africa is acidic soil, and Ethiopia only needs about 9 million tons of agricultural lime for the improvement of strongly acidic land. The demand for lime varies significantly among different crops, and it is necessary to first focus on the core needs of surrounding agriculture, metallurgy, and infrastructure to avoid a mismatch between production capacity and market.
We need to do a good job in localization adaptation and selection. Priority should be given to using lightweight vertical lime kilns with a daily output of 50-300 tons. These equipment have a small footprint, low infrastructure barriers, and are suitable for weak infrastructure conditions in most regions of Africa. At the same time, they are equipped with modular crushing and screening systems, which can directly produce fine-grained lime that meets agricultural standards and reduce secondary processing costs.
We also need to implement compliance and supply chain assurance. Verify the admission policies for local mining and environmental emissions in advance, rely on mature domestic supply chains to complete equipment assembly and shipment, dispatch technical personnel to complete installation and commissioning, and train local workers to avoid long-term production line shutdowns due to insufficient operation and maintenance capabilities.
To balance long-term operational stability, optimize the insulation and sealing structure of kilns, reserve core vulnerable parts reserves, and ensure continuous and stable output of production lines in response to local power fluctuations and long accessory supply cycles.
